tesselle is a collection of R packages for research and teaching in archaeology. The tesselle packages are mainly written in S4 and designed to work together in the simplest possible way.

This website is under construction, more will be added soon.

Yet another package

There are more than 15,000 packages available on CRAN, so there is more than enough to cover most analytical needs. There are many great packages available, tesselle is not intended to compete with them or replace them. Rather, it is a matter of contributing to a diverse environment.

tesselle is born from a progressive change of research practices within our laboratories with two key objectives:

Last but not least, these packages are useful to us, we hope that others may also find them of interest.

tesselle is at the early stages of development and includes packages that were not necessarily designed with the same logic. This means that we will make changes in existing packages and continue to publish new ones. You can follow the next steps of the project on GitHub and fell free to contribute.
